Easter Light

Faith Focus for the Week

What is my view of the world and the place of Jesus Christ in it?

Easter heralds spring; and with spring, we welcome the return of the light. During March in North America, we gain more daylight than any other month of the year. During Lent, we open ourselves to seeing the Light of Christ in new ways through the practices of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. This Eastertide, pray for your own flashes of insight, your own moments of seeing the light. Ask for the enlightenment necessary to view your relationship to the world in the fresh light of Easter, remembering that though there was a dark tomb, there was, in turn, an empty tomb. The Resurrection calls us to rejoice in our Christian discipleship.
