Mt 5:20-26

Matthew’s Gospel today is a continuation of the Sermon on the Mount and the first of six antitheses, through which Jesus contrasts the piety and holiness, ascribed to by the Jewish leaders the reality of the teaching. Jesus’ teaching of God’s wil is radical and demanding. The scribes just don’t get it.

I pray that what I say and do has less to do with the “letter of the law” and everything to do with the “heart of the law”.
