Lk 15:1-3, 11-32

The central figure in Jesus’ story about the father and his sons initially seems to be the wasteful and extravagant son. The younger son’s return is an important part of the story but the father’s extravagant mercy, a reflection of God’s love, is the heart of the parable.

To know that no matter what, you wait for me when I stray and greet me with open arms is all the assurance I need. May I willingly and readily be a bearer of love and mercy.
