Mk 12:13-17


This conflict encounter with the Jewish leaders concerns the tax due to the emperor. No doubt their intent is to discredit Jesus, but as their hypocrisy is revealed, his wisdom prevails. He engages them in an exchange with the coin marked with the image of Caesar in his hand.



My Lord and my God, you never cease to amaze me. Why does that surprise me? I pray for even a tiny bit of your ability to challenge wisely.
