Mk 16:15-20

The passages that immediately precede this gospel site Jesus appearances, one to Mary Magdalene and the other to the two disciples. They believed and returned with the news only to be met with unbelief. In this, the longer ending of Mark’s Gospel, Jesus appears and begins by admonishing the Eleven for their unbelief. Once said, he sends them out on their missionary journey with an understanding that those who believe and act in his name will be capable of great things. Though he ascends to heaven, he remains with them.

St. Mark, pray for us this generation of disciples that we serve well with the courage to go out, recount the story and share all that we have seen and heard.
